發(fā)展核電是減少我國環(huán)境污染的有效途徑
近年來，霧霾頻發(fā)，燃煤是大氣污染的主要來源。核能屬于低碳、密集性能源，以核能發(fā)電代替燃煤溫室氣體排放量的潛在貢獻(xiàn)非常明顯，同時(shí)也是減少我國環(huán)境污染的現(xiàn)實(shí)有效途徑。
*院士、輻射防護(hù)和環(huán)境保護(hù)專家潘自強(qiáng)告訴記者，一件事物不能簡單評(píng)說孰優(yōu)孰劣，對(duì)電能來燃料鏈的比較，而不是電廠本身。以核電為例，即不僅指核電廠本身，而是指包括開采→件制造→發(fā)電處理→廢物處置的全過程。
上世紀(jì)90年代中期，我國曾對(duì)電向環(huán)境排放二氧化硫、氮氧化物、顆粒物等污染物，而核發(fā)電不產(chǎn)生任何大氣污染物；從放射性流出物排放來看，煤中含有天然存在的原生放射性核素，通過燃煤電廠的煙電鏈向環(huán)境排放的氣態(tài)和液態(tài)流出物遠(yuǎn)低于天然本底水平，產(chǎn)生數(shù)量很少的固體廢物作封閉處理，沒有外排?？偟膩碚f，煤電鏈對(duì)公眾產(chǎn)生的輻射照射約為核的50倍。
國家*原局長張國寶曾表示，對(duì)于煤炭占一次能源67%的中國來說，增加核電是一個(gè)現(xiàn)實(shí)的選擇，它沒有溫室氣體設(shè)的核電站都用海水冷卻，大大節(jié)約了淡水資源。
